Introducing the beautifully restored 1969 Cougar built for Kevin Fredrickson, a project designed to blend vintage aesthetics with modern performance and reliability. Kevin sought a full restoration that would retain a classic look while incorporating contemporary touches. After careful consideration, he chose our small block Ford 408 stroker crate engine, enhanced with Holley’s modern multipoint fuel injection system. This rotisserie restoration features a stunning jet black paint job and modern wheels and tires, all while maintaining a mostly stock appearance from the outside. We completely rewired the vehicle, installed modern gauges and electronics, and added a Vintage Air air conditioning system for comfort. The engine is equipped with a March front accessory drive featuring all essential components, along with a robust Wizard cooling system complete with a brushless fan setup. Custom headers and a modernized fuel delivery system from Aeromotive further enhance its performance. As with many of our builds, we added sound-deadening material to minimize noise and heat in the driver compartment. The gauges provide a vintage factory appeal, while the suspension upgrades include a minimally modified leaf spring rear and upgraded front suspension. We installed a 4R70W transmission package for effortless driving. Additionally, we ensured the car met modern emissions standards, allowing Kevin to enjoy not just a stunning vehicle, but also one that could navigate the streets with confidence and comfort, whether in traffic or on a cross-country journey.
