Introducing Don Graham’s remarkable 1968 Mustang, a project that perfectly blends classic style with modern performance enhancements. Don purchased this Mustang in 2020, having previously undergone restoration to its original condition in 2013. However, despite only accumulating 900 miles since then, he found the driving experience lacking. After short drives, transitioning from the Mustang to any other car felt like stepping into a Bentley; while vintage, the steering and braking left much to be desired, and the vehicle suffered from fuel and oil leaks. The original 390 engine, although responsive for its time, paled in comparison to the performance of the two modern Shelby GT500s he had owned, prompting him to seek a significant upgrade. He decided to bring the entire project to us for a comprehensive overhaul. We provided a powerful 427 small block Ford engine, delivering 520 hp with multipoint fuel injection controlled by Holley EFI, paired with a Tremec TKX five-speed transmission. Our upgrades also included custom headers and exhaust systems, a complete Wilwood brake system, and a modern Borgeson power steering upgrade to enhance drivability. The result is a beautifully restored Mustang that retains its classic charm while offering a thrilling driving experience without the drawbacks of its original setup.
